Apex Tempering Valve 20mm Ring Main Installation - TV20D
Model: TV20D
Apex Tempering Valve 20mm Ring Main Installation - TV20D
20mm Ring Main Installation (non-return on both inlets)
Application:
High and low pressure hot water systems.
Extremely high flow rates make the TV20 and TV25 valves suitable for low pressure systems, e.g. header tanks, open vented and low head systems (see flow chart below). The TV25 is also suitable for high demand mains pressure systems.

Standards:
- Complies with NZ Building Code G12 (2001)
- Complies with NZS 4617:1989
- N.Z. Patent No. 517764
- Aust. Patent No. 2003200856
- RSA. Patent No. 2003/1992
- Extremely high flow rates make the TV20 and TV25 valves suitable for low pressure systems, e.g. header tanks, open vented and low head systems (see flow chart below). The TV25 is also suitable for high demand mains pressure systems.
- Valve can installed in any orientation.
- The tamper proof tempering valve (TV20TP) is suited to applications where the potential for the vandalism and incorrect adjusting is high. The tamper proof valve has the same specifications as our TV20 valve but is easily distinguished from our standard products by its red ball cap.
- Advanced temperature control makes the TV15P ideal for direct connection to a sanitary fixture, e.g. hand basin..
- Failsafe shutdown in the event of failure of hot and cold supplies.
- N.Z. forged, high quality, corrosion resistant DR brass body
- Machined, assembled and 100% tested in N.Z.

Installation
Typical TV15P Hand Basin Installation
- Refer to Specifications Tab for installation guide.
- Valve must be fitted by a qualified plumber.
- Installation must comply to local authority requirements.
- Standard tempering valves are designed to be installed close to the water heater, or at an acceptable distance from a plumbing fixture. Do NOT install a standard tempering valve at point of use.
- TV15P should be used as a point of use tempering valve.
- Valve may be installed horizontally or vertically.
- Flush pipes prior to fitting.
- Valve must be protected by a filter.
- Connections are H (hot inlet), C (cold inlet) and MIX (mixed outlet).
- Do not apply heat near valve during installation, this may damage element.
- Do not install in outlet of cylinder.
- Provide minimum 150mm heat loop.
- Balanced pressure recommended, unequal up to 5.1 (cold to hot) ratio, non-return must be fitted to hot inlet.
- Cylinder thermostat setting must be set 10˚C above valve outlet temperature (minimum cylinder temperature 65˚C).
- Non-returns are required on hot and cold inlets for ring main installations.
Temperature Adjustment:
Remove cap. Use screwdriver to adjust to desired temperature. To increase temperature turn anticlockwise (H), to decrease temperature turn adjusting screw clockwise (C). Replace cap. maximum delivered hot water temperature at any sanitary fixture used for personal hygiene shall not exceed 55˚C. For childhood centres, schools, old peoples homes and hospitals, etc. outlet must be set to 45˚C.

- Maximum inlet pressure: 1000 kPa [145psi] (TV25 & TV25S up to 1600 kPa [235psi]).
- Maximum inlet temperature: 99˚C all models except for Solar (TV20S/TV25S - 110˚C constant).
- Outlet temperature: (factory set): 55˚C.
- Minimum temperature: 1˚C.
- Adjustable outlet temperature: 35˚C - 60˚C.
